Watching Twelfth Night (1996) last night, I was mesmerized by the stunning Gothic Victorian estate and interiors. At first, I mistakenly thought it was Strawberry Hill, but the credits listed Lanhydrock House in Cornwall. A bit of goggle searching ensued. Images+info here and here.
So beautiful. I can't stop thinking of Cornwall, lately. Probably because J. and I just finished reading Susan Cooper's "Greenwitch" to one another. Need to go!
ReplyDeleteWhat a romantic thing to do!
ReplyDeleteEven though I've not been to Cornwall, I image these sweeping, rugged and romantic landscapes of movie/tv memory. Lanhydrock was also used in the mid-70s version of Poldark, which I LOVED as a teen.
WOW! I could get lost just wandering aroung the gorgeous gardens and grounds...........
ReplyDeleteMamabeaks - isn't it amazing - all the little jewels like this one tucked away?
ReplyDeleteMay I just say thank you for introducing me to so many new movies--my netflix queue thanks you, too!
ReplyDeleteBeen there - it's just amazing. Thanks for the reminder.
