Book Score #1

My intended summer cleanup and downsizing was more of a "replacing" one group of things for another. I did clean out my books, taking many old reference books and unread novels to a used bookstore that offers trade and store credit. Two of these were only $1 each and filled with beautiful illuminations and scenes of romanticized medieval life.

  1. Wow, beautiful finds! I've been in that clean and clear process.... and it IS funny that now I think I have room for a few more things. Yikes. Luckily I've mostly resisted, glad you didn't, these are really great looking books!

    1. I keep failing at the "reply" feature:(

I've laughed at my attempts...I have lots of room and storage space which is quite dangerous for someone like me, who loves "stuff". An acquaintance emailed me asking if I would like two pieces of antique furniture she was giving away. My mind said "NOOOO. No more chairs" but I typed "When can i pick them up?". Epic fail! In my defense, the other item IS a cedar chest which is practical and pretty.

    1. Thank you. YES, those are from Proud Knight, Fair Lady and many more beautiful ones in that small book, even sprinkled throughout the text.

    1. Linda - thank you so much. I had calligraphy as part of my art courses in college. Of course, like most things that seems like a long, long time ago. I need to get out my books and renew the love!

Just visited your blog, but the interface keeps eating my comments. Love the Mac sisters!!!

  5. Some of those are pretty enough to frame. I love books like these. I have a difficult time finding gems like that nowadays.

And to answer your question, yep I'm a Taurus too. May 14th.

  7. OOOh i can see why! These look delicious books, swoon. I wouldn't have been able to resist either. We have a little old bookshop in the village, a real treasure, its like a labyrinth, books piled everywhere all higgledy piggeldy & i spend hours searching and moving piles of books aside to unearth some treasure or another. Mr O thinks im quite mad as we have so many books already ;)
