Dresses & Tresses series

From Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Mostly a focus on Lady Marian's gowns and the lovely forest wedding scene.
Behold the pretty!

I do love a man with a crossbow.
This reminds me so much of a favorite Walter Crane illustration (right).
I read in the movie guide that this gown is made of silk organza, boiled for 10 hours to achieve a softer, draping fabric.

 Love the twig cathedral window.
The details on the clothing is amazing!

  1. When we see how fantastic the clothing and hairstyles were in the past, it seems that we have lost so much in this modern culture...all the way up to the 50's, women wore gloves and hats and heels. Call me old fashioned but I love the gorgeous hair ornamentation of medieval times and Edwardian times, and would feel quite comfortable in a flowered headress.

    1. You are so right on all counts and I just feel better when I'm wearing what I think is beautiful. Of course, I sit here writing this wearing yoga pants and a tee-shirt.

    1. I love her hair too - all wild and unruly. She looks perfect in the Green Wood.
