Adoration of St. Vincent.
Adore the lady on the left, in vivid crimson and jewel tones. What a magnificent headpiece!!!! that appears to be punctuated with velvet foliage.
From the Saint Vincent Panels, c1460-ish. Attributed to Nuno Conçalves, Portugal.
Oooh, that is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jno! Would love to see the 6-panel piece up close and personal.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I just love the richness in medieval work.
ReplyDeleteSilkandBone - Me too! The men and women both sported such opulent clothing.
ReplyDeletethat is impressive! must have good balance, though the corsets likely helped!
ReplyDeleteJen - right you are:) - much prettier than having a book on your head for posture! Love the blakened green and red color combinations.
