Karin This was an old book plate with no information on the margins and it seems the image is public domain as well, so I can assure you no copyright infringement was intended on my part. But the artist is Jean Louis Meissonier and the work called An Arthurian Legend.
Oh, hello - I have landed in your blog and think I have flown back centuries. The medieval period has always been a passion of mine, ever since childhood (and that was a long time ago. Now I must look back and take in all you have written and shown - and I love that textile pattern on the sielines of your posts.
