and so I wander...

In The Forest
Oscar Wilde
Out of the mid-wood's twilight
Into the meadow's dawn,
Ivory limbed and brown-eyed,
Flashes my Faun!
He skips through the copses singing,
And his shadow dances along,
And I know not which I should follow,
Shadow or song!
O Hunter, snare me his shadow!
O Nightingale, catch me his strain!
Else moonstruck with music and madness
I track him in vain!

The perfect soundtrack for woodland wandering.

  3. Ah, look at that sweet bird! I love the little deer, too.

We have 2 acres near Austin, and we've been told that 2 fawns were born beneath one of our trees there. The neighbor had to cut a hole in the barbed wire so that they could all get out. During my last visit there, one of them was on our land. Luckily, I had my camera in my hands and got a short video of it.

  7. Jackie - I pretty much did as it was in my yard!!!! with his mother, a beautiful doe who has visited several times. They nibble under the bird feeder eating sunflower seeds.

  8. I'll post the video again sometime. It's short, but sweet. Deer are such beautiful creatures. We've seen a rabbit on our land once, too. I never did get any pictures or video of it though.

As for Gerry... I don't know. Did you see him on 'Piers Morgan' the other night, describing his ideal woman? (I missed it and had to download it online). I think he was talking about me.

    (cough-cough... I-(cough)-wish! cough...)
