Morris Monday

Delightful William Morris prints in 100% cotton sourced at local fabric stores. I thought I'd use it to line bags, but it is too pretty to hide. Made little closet sachets instead, filled with lavender and cords for easy hanging in the closet (or a doorknob). The lovely Strawberry Thief was gifted by dear friend Robin.

Lavender filled sachets. I may eventually add some to my Etsy shop.

In honor of Harry Potter weekend...

I drove to a nearby town to see the owls of CLAWS, Inc. - a NC rescue group that does amazing, spirit-lifting work for animals and birds - some are permanently disabled and unable to ever be released back to the wild, like this group of owls. Truly wonderful to see these magical and magnificent creatures up close.

Sisterhood of the Traveling Dress

Ok, back to dresses & tresses!
I've a photographic memory, but alas, a fairly selective and not highly productive one. It is mostly a textile- and clothing-related gift. In last weekend's Starz' Camelot viewing frenzy, I took note of costumes and immediately recognized this one. In Camelot, Guinevere's cousin Bridget wears this orange gown with organza sleeves, decorated with gold banding. That very same dress is worn in First Knight by the luminous and beautiful Julia Ormond as Guinevere.
I included the back view because her hair is so swoon-worthy. Could she BE any prettier?
