Of mystics and movies

Only showing in select U.S. theaters (and none in my state)— Vision, a German-made movie about the life of Hildegard von Bingen. I'll likely have to wait (impatiently) for this on DVD, but doesn't it look lovely. Image below provided from the site's download section, where you can view trailer, showings, etc.

  9. Every element has a sound, an original sound from the order of God; all those sounds unite like the harmony from harps and zithers.

Always loved that quote. Look forward to the film. Thanks.

  14. WOL - Oh, wow, that post is perfection and thanks for sharing. I'm of Celtic heritage and my spiritual path is a pseudo Pagan hodge-podge:)
Have been a fan of Clannad for ages.

  15. Just ran across this -- had to share!

Jackie Morris posted one of her watercolors that reminded me of the Grimshaw, and I was looking for a good site to leave as a URL for her to see the comparison.

Celtic singers whose work I'm in love with currently: Nóirín Ní Riain, Margaret Stewart, Liam O Maonlai, Finola Ó Siochrú -- I subscribe to Rhapsody, and all can be found there, but I'll try to source them for you if you like. Secret Garden is another fav group, along with Capercaille, Altan, and Capercaille's lead singer, Karen Matheson.

  16. WOL - Oh, I love that version of The Lady.
I've some music by Capercaille, and older work by Clannad (on cassette tapes!!!!), so you've prompted some new iTunes purchases.

BTW, Robin of Sherwood was an amazing series. Judy Trott was a perfect Maid Marian.

Thanks for all the lovely links:)
