I just found your blog at Ruthie's blog, "5 Precious Things." The title intrigued me and I am not disappointed. My blog is called Celtic Lady and I natter on a lot about that subject, but I have always loved the Medieval Period as well. Thanks for such a lovely blog.
I can almost see a texture of taffeta on her skirt...lovely. Anita
ReplyDeleteI really love the colors in this one, like she is sitting on moss.
ReplyDeleteShe somehow seems more "real" than most artworks of the period I've seen! And I love her hairstyle.
ReplyDeleteThis is a pretty late piece, so that may explain the realistic style.
ReplyDeleteHairstyle, dress, trees...'tis all pretty:)

ReplyDeleteSaunters over to your blog.
A stunning postcard, the colors are so rich!
ReplyDeletePenelope is a favorite of mine. I'll have to
find an early poem I wrote about her and repost.
