Foliate Italianate

Recently finished for a Faerie Queene. This was my first time using Period Patterns and this is  No. 41 with a few modifications. The underskirt, stomacher and 2-part sleeves are made of olive green silk shantung, the overdress a green and copper foliate patterned fabric I'd bought years ago. The chemise is a tissue-thin ivory silk. The sleeves and stomacher are reversible for alternate looks.

And of course a little purse to match!

  4. I don't even have words for how beautiful this is. You truly have THE talent for sewing. Love everything about this, the fabrics, the color, the matching bag, all the extra finishing touches that make this unbelievable. I could actually see this being worn centuries ago.

  8. It is stunning and you should be modeling it. Will you wear your hair in that marvelous double braid you once posted? Quite a handy needlewoman you are!

  9. Wow! you did a beautiful job. Unfortunately, your photos wouldn't enlarge -- I wanted to pour over the details. Don't know whether you like this genre (historical fantasy), but I thought I'd mention these to you -- the middle two are set in Elizabethan times.

    1. I mostly wear them to faires. I'm always envious of those who do reenactment; I fear I'm too shy in large groups to pull it off.
