I'm reblogging this from the
Pre-Raphaelite Sisterhood where the author, Stephanie Piña, provides details of her husband's recent motorcycle accident and his need for multiple surgeries - without the benefit of health insurance.

The generous and creatively gifted people at
WAG Screen are donating 50% of the sales of
The Lady of Shalott on DVD to help Stephanie's family during this crisis. I bought this when it was first released and it is breathtaking in its beauty and detail.
Beauty for kindness - a wonderful thing indeed!
I've just ordered a copy of the Lady of Shalott DVD and also the Luttrell Psalter one. I knew the Lady of Shalott was being made but didn't know it's now available. I really hope that Stephanie and her family get through this, it must be a nightmare for them, at least in the UK we have the NHS which may have its faults but it's available to everyone for free.
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to seeing my DVDs when they arrive.
Rowan - this film it truly beautiful and gives one the feeling of stepping back in time. I love the simplicity of it. I only know Stephanie from her online blogs, but can relate to their plight as a self-employed person who struggles to afford basic health insurance! Many cannot do so, and it is a major failure of this country that everyone cannot have medical care when they need it.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to sharing comments with you when you've viewed your dvds!
Thanks for the heads up on this. I put it on my blog and will be ordering the DVD
ReplyDeleteJulie - thank you and always love to spread some beauty!
ReplyDeleteBTW, just ordered mine. Am so excited to see it. If it is good as I think it is going to be, I may order one of their other ones.
