Winged and wonderful

This weekend's weather was lovely enough for an outdoor fleamarket visit at the Raleigh State Fairgrounds. I found this little box to house my new medieval tapestry Owl Relic from Parrish Relics.

In addition, added some vintage buttons to my collection.

  1. A successful expedition, by the look of it. Love the box. I've never been to our flea market. Maybe I ought to go?

Highly recommended and worth the price of admission for the photography alone. Ordered a copy of the Ivanhoe DVD you mentioned. Looking forward to viewing it. Also 3rd and 4th installments of Sharpe's with Sean Bean. Stacked by the DVD player is Tristan and Isolde ( http://www.amazon.com/Tristan-Isolde-Widescreen-James-Franco/dp/B000EPFCPE ) hoping to treat myself to it sometime this week

  2. Ah, great minds think alike! I love that magazine - don't have a subscription, but buy it in Barnes & Noble on occasion. I've been meaning to rewatch Tristan & Isolde to. What say we compare notes?

  3. Lovely adornments, and moss! Also, I completely loved both Ivanhoe ( I think I commented here before on that - the very raw Medieval feel) and Tristan & Isolde. Both recommended by you. I'm in need of some more recs, if you have some!

  4. Valerianna - Thank you! This Sat. Starz network is premiering Camelot, but I'm unsure if Netflix will stream it as they did Pillars of the Earth - which I highly recommend if you've not seen it yet:) Rufus Sewell. Need I say anymore?

The Camelot trailer is on YouTube.

  6. Ahhhh, I DID order Pillars of the Earth from my library system. It was GREAT! I had read the book and the sequel, and was impressed with how they did the screenplay, mostly. I'll keep a lookout for Camelot. And what was that film about Hildegard that I JUSt missed in my town???

Speaking of owls, I was awakened this morning by a murder of crows, screaming outside my window. It took me a moment to focus, but I knew what I would see... I came into focus just at the moment the owl took off from a tree very nearby, chased far off into the forest, I tracked her flight by the screaming crows following her.... !

  16. I've not checked in for a while and I am so glad I did. Yeeaa that your dear kitty is healthy! There is nothing more difficult than having a sick baby. They are part of our hearts and that heart aches so when they are having a rough go. Good for you and your baby!
Your owl pendant is gorgeous! As is the box your found. And I love the idea of an "illuminated tattoo" How fun.
I will check in again soon, lots of blessings to you!

  19. I love those sweet Mexican glass boxes!

April will be a great month for mini-series with "Camelot" out the gate April 1st on Starz, followed on April 3rd by "The Borgias" on Showtime, and then HBO offers "Game of Thrones" on April 17th!

Costumes are very stimulating in all of these! Wonderful casts in each as well!
