Medieval Beasties

Recent machine embroidery test of a design I had digitized. The original was an image of a 13th century Italian tapestry that I manipulated in Photoshop, first isolating one figure, contrasting it to black and white, editing some foliate elements so that it can be mirror-imaged. Here was my first test on black velvet. I'm thrilled with it so far.

  1. Beautiful! -- can't read the banner -- I'm sure I could, though, if I were holding it where I could turn it about. Is this a new toy, your embroidery machine? -- With so much medieval art accessable by computer, and all the digital manipulation software out there (like Photoshop) you could really turn out some very nice designs -- just think of the embelishments you could do to the clothing you make. . . .

  2. WOL - Thank you. I've actually had the embroidery module for some time and am still learning. There are some nice machine designs available but tend to be a bit "cute" for my taste. Ad you say, so many great medieval pieces of art lend themselves to this application.
